How can I Learn
QiGong?
QiGong
is now becoming quite popular in the U.S. and schools
and teachers are popping up "faster than Chinese
Restaurants." There are many forms of
QiGong in China and throughout the world today.
Most of the forms share similar roots and theories -
but each has it's own special qualities. While
it is fortunate that QiGong is beginning to reach the
world outside of China, there is currently no method
in the U.S. to regulate or qualify skilled
practitioners and teachers. For the sake of the
integrity of this ancient healing art - we ask
students to be aware that a good name is not always a
guarantee of a good product. When looking for a
teacher or school, it is a good idea to consider the
following qualifications:
-
How
long has the teacher studied QiGong specifically?
-
Who
was the teacher's teacher?
-
Have
the teacher and the students experienced
remarkable health benefits, and have they
"felt the Qi"?
-
If
the teacher is a "Master" -- does he
perform healing, and can he offer patient or
student referrals?
-
Can
the teacher relate the full theory of the form and
adequately answer any of your questions?
Remember,
QiGong is a life discipline - long hard hours of
practice and experience are essential to make it a
career.
